Cooperative Institutional Research Program (CIRP)
Introduction

The CIRP survey instrument seeks to collect a wide range of data on demographic characteristics, background experiences, educational aspirations, family background, personal values and goals, current views on political and social issues, and expectations about college.
The Annual CIRP Survey of Entering Freshmen is administered through the Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) at the University of California- Los Angeles (UCLA), with additional sponsorship by the American Council on Education (ACE) and the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies at UCLA.
CIRP is administered in the fall, typically during an institutions orientation or welcome activities. It has been administered since 1966.
