Highlights from the 2008 TCNJ Graduating Senior Survey

Overview

In the 2007-08 Academic Year, 1,487 undergraduate students graduated from The College of New Jersey (12/2007, 5/2008, anticipated 8/2008). All of these graduating seniors were asked to participate in a brief questionnaire to gather information on their post graduation plans. Seniors were sent an official College email with a link to the survey at approximately the same time as their graduation in mid-May 2008. The graduates were given eight weeks to complete the survey, with three reminders sent to those who had not yet completed it. Six hundred sixty eight graduates responded to the survey by the cut-off date of July 15th, which is a 45% response rate. A preliminary analysis of post-graduate plans was conducted by the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment and included on the TCNJ VSA College Portrait. Because TCNJ recognizes that its students often have multiple endeavors and goals, graduates were given the ability to select more than one response of the 16 choices for this question. For the purposes of the VSA College Portrait, only the seven required categories were included in the portrait webpage and subsequently recalculated to have a total of 100%. In order to get a better picture of the dynamic nature of TCNJ graduates, responses to the future plans question across all categories/choices are included in the chart below.

Respondents were able to select multiple responses
